The development of the Brno Metropolitan Area is coordinated by the Steering Committee. This political platform without legal subjectivity, standing outside the elected bodies of cities, is responsible to the holder of Integrated Development Strategy of Brno Metropolitan Area (ISR BMA) – the Statutory City of Brno for the long-term development of the metropolitan area, the proper course of the strategy implementation and also issues recommendations for the Integrated Development Strategy holder, local government authorities and statutory bodies of partners involved in the implementation of the Strategy. As necessary, the Steering Committee establishes expert Working Groups for individual thematic areas of the Strategy.
The Working groups are an advisory body of the Steering Committee established on the basis of the partnership principle for addressing the content of the Integrated Development Strategy of Brno Metropolitan Area. They are composed of partners and experts as members, invited experts on the topic under discussion and project applicants corresponding to the thematic focus of the working group as guests. The WGs assess the degree of impact of the Strategy subject matter on the development of the whole metropolitan area, comment on the form of integrated solutions and the complexity of integrated solutions, discuss the shift of individual problems and needs for the measures of the strategy, make suggestions for adjustments to integrated solutions from existing and already developed projects, etc.
The purpose of the Memorandum is to declare continued cooperation, to ensure continuity in a joint coordinated approach in the development of the Brno Metropolitan Area, to update and implement the Integrated Development Strategy of the Brno Metropolitan Area, to prepare and implement joint projects, to further develop the area and to use public funds efficiently. The concluded Memorandum allows its signatories to participate in the Steering Committee and its working groups.
