{"id":11708,"date":"2019-10-01T06:24:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-01T06:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/metropolitni.brno.cz\/?p=11708"},"modified":"2024-07-15T07:02:30","modified_gmt":"2024-07-15T07:02:30","slug":"the-city-of-brno-will-become-the-only-czech-representative-in-the-prestigious-european-network-metrex","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/metropolitni.brno.cz\/en\/the-city-of-brno-will-become-the-only-czech-representative-in-the-prestigious-european-network-metrex\/","title":{"rendered":"The City of Brno will become the only Czech representative in the prestigious European network METREX"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The City of Brno, as the leader of metropolitan cooperation in the Czech Republic, will become the only Czech representative in the prestigious European network <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eurometrex.org\/\">METREX.<\/a> The network&nbsp; represents metropolitan areas at European level and its aim is to boost cooperation between metropolitan areas and to seek as much information and European resources as possible for their development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Membership in the METREX network will also allow the City of Brno to be part of&nbsp; negotiations regarding the integrated urban tools (ITI) and the urban dimension setting in the next EU programming period 2021-2027. In the next programming period 2021\u20132027, the ITI instrument will be supported by both the European Commission and the Ministry for Regional Development of the Czech Republic. The City of Brno has the ambition to negotiate the same or greater amount of funds for the development of the Brno Metropolitan Area. Membership of the city in the METREX network should simplify these negotiations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cGiven the ongoing preparations for the new European Union programming period 2021-2027, our City&#8217;s&nbsp;participation in this network is highly desirable. It will allow the City of Brno to have much stronger voice, forward its requests and be heard at European level.
